For my holiday plans this year I wanted to make a set of crochet Jesse Tree ornaments for Advent this year. Last Christmas I made just one of the twenty-five ornaments in an exchange I did with some of the other ladies at church. It was just a neat tradition to do with my daughter, who was one at the time, to each day hang up a new ornament and count them with her.
I was so disappointed when I searched for crochet reference pictures to not find any! I thought someone else would have thought of this too, so I might be blazing a new path. I'm definately going to make individual patterns and a complete set of them to put up once I complete my first set. If you've never celebrated Advent before I highly recommend it. I didn't know anything about it from my childhood tradtions, but its such a great way to count down the days to Christmas and teach the Bible to kids all at the same time. I turn into something of a kid myself during Christmas-time so I think I might have enjoyed it more than my daughter. Here's a list of the ornaments you make for a complete set. A great book for teaching about Advent is "The Advent Jesse Tree" it can be found online, Amazon & eBay both have good prices.
